Wire Artisans Guild’s monthly challenge for January (yeah I know... I’m late) – Tasty!

This bracelet is all about the wonderful, gorgeous, juicy, TASTY faceted briolettes and nuggets of Carnelian.

I shaped 2mm (14ga) thick sterling silver wire into a soft flowing wave and wrapped the gems to the frame but made sure to keep the wrapping down to a minimum. The centre of the bracelet is accented with a little bit heavier wrapping and a beautiful little chandelier cut purple Amethyst and a faceted rondelle of Amethyst.

I added two faceted chunky nuggets of Carnelian to one end and then wrapped a big link chain to them. The chain ends with a little cluster of faceted rondelles of shaded Amethyst. You just hook the chain on the opposite swirl and you’re good to go.

Lastly I oxidised the whole piece black and gave it a good polish to bring out the shine and to give the bracelet a mysterious dark tone that works wonderfully with the stones.
